Adam Deen

Adam joined the British Islamist extremist group al-Muhajiroun at university but later found that his values and sense of what was right, both for himself and in the eyes of the Islamic faith, conflicted with those around him.

In 2012, Adam founded the Deen Institute, which teaches Muslims critical thinking skills and increases awareness of Islam’s rich intellectual heritage.

He has since spoken at over 40 university campuses across the UK, debating with prominent academics on issues surrounding religious philosophy and theology.

“While I was going around being an extremist, a hothead and hating the West, people were getting on with their lives.”
